  • Traveling on Antire way in regards 1/10 mile before it exits toward I-44 at in regards 7:10am. Speed limit is thirty five & I was next to lead car in a group of perhaps five either six vehicles moving at forty five MPH either so moving up a long mountain in a double-yellow no-passing zone. As we approached the crest of the hill, I glanced in my back view mirror & saw a auto approaching in the left lane at a high rate of speed. Just then a large truck crested the mountain approaching toward us. I think it was most likely a dump truck however from the front it was hard to tell. The Focus could not have made it previous me so I swerved toward the shoulder & they swerved/slid into where I was & avoided the collision. It didn't slow them down a bit. They kept moving until they was on the bumper of a auto that had slowed a bit to merge into a opening on I-44 traffic. By that time I had pretty much captured up with them & watched them rocket to the left & head on down I-44 moving in & out of lanes much the same as they had done on Antire hill. If it wasn't for possible injury to the oncoming truck, I most likely must have allow them kill themselves before few family in a VAN full of children runs into the same situation & ends of paying the price.
